Delgado Students:

Delgado Community College is proud to introduce my.dcc.edu, a new, more robust, email and cloud computing system available to all Delgado students. Using Microsoft Outlook Live, you now have access to a brand new 10 GB (gigabyte) mailbox, 25 GB of online file storage, group calendaring, shared online documents using Office Web Apps, blogging tools and much more. Also, because my.dcc.edu is browser based, students have access to all of these services from virtually any computer or mobile device with an Internet connection (e.g. cloud computing).

Getting Started

Let’s begin by accessing your new my.dcc.edu mailbox.
  1. Navigate your browser to https://www.dcc.edu/LiveSSO/.
  2. Enter your current username and password then click “Login”.
  3. Congratulations, you are now in Outlook Live. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with this new interface.

Q. Have my emails already been deleted from the old student mailbox?
A. Yes, your emails have been deleted. The old email system no longer exists.

Q. When will my old student mailbox be deleted?
A. The old student mailboxes were deleted from the system on December 14, 2011. You can no longer retrieve emails from the old email system.

Q. Will my student email address change?
A. Yes, your current email address JDOE12345@dcc.edu has change to JDOE12345@my.dcc.edu.

Q. Will my current username change?
A. No, Your current username and password will remain the same.

Q. What about the mail in my old Delgado student mailbox, has that been moved to the new location?
A. No, Delgado did not have the resources to complete this task. Students were allowed a (3) month grace period to forward their mail to the new system.

Q. If I accidently sign out of my current Delgado student mailbox, will I be able to return to the my.dcc.edu login page?
A. Yes, if you sign out from your mailbox, you will be rerouted to the my.dcc.edu login page. If you sign out from any other area within my.dcc.edu you will be rerouted to the MSN website.

Q. What if I want a direct address to my new student mailbox, is that possible?
A. Yes, you can send mail directly to your new email address JDOE12345@my.dcc.edu

Q. How long will I be able to keep my new my.dcc.edu Mailbox?
A. This is a Microsoft hosted mail system. Microsoft has offered lifetime mailboxes free to students. Upon leaving Delgado, you will retain your mailbox, indefinitely.

Q. Will students have advertising on their mail interface, or at the bottom of messages?
A. No, students will not have advertising in either location. After leaving Delgado, you may have advertising when you log in, similar to Hotmail or Gmail now.

Q. I have a Windows Live mailbox already, will the new student mail system use this "look and feel?"
A. No, the new student system will be running on the enhanced 2010 version of Microsoft Exchange.

Q. I am on a Mac, will I still be able to use this new mailbox?
A. Yes, the new system supports all popular browsers: Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.

Q. I use an iPhone or other mobile device to access mail now, will that be supported on the new system.
A. Yes, Delgado will support the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, and Blackberry. For all other devices, a mobile device management interface is available to assist you.

Effective September 14, 2011, Delgado Community College, students only, transitioned from the old student email platform to the new my.dcc.edu email environment. This means that your my.dcc.edu email account is the new, official communication path between you and the College. You are required to check your my.dcc.edu email account for important announcements and communications from the College such as instructor communications, financial aid, etc.
