About The Concentration

Students concentrating in Web Design will learn the fundamentals of design, development, a webpage maintenance required for becoming successful website designers. Course instruction includes a combination of technologies and tools to assist the student in working as a professional in the web environment. Students in this concentration will learn both the technology and business of web design. Delgado Community College instructors work closely with professional web designers to ensure that our students are learning the most sought-after web design skills.  

The Computer Information Technology Program offers both a Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) in Web Design as well as a Web Design concentration as part of the Associate of Applied Science (AAS). 

About The Certificate Program

While not an associate degree, the certificate program will provide students with the core skills and knowledge necessary for a career in web design including training in the technology and business aspects of web design. 

Certifications

Students who graduate this program will have be prepared to take Industry Based Certification examinations related to web programming, such as the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) JavaScript Specialist and CIW Site Development Associate exam.
