Readmission Application Process for Continuing Nursing Students

This process is for the student who started the nursing program, enrolled in at least one nursing course, and had an interruption in their enrollment for one or more semesters. The student is applying to restart their nursing course work.

The Readmission Application deadlines are:

  • September 1st – January readmission (Spring semester)
  • December 1st – June readmission (Summer session)
  • March 1st – August readmission (Fall semester)
  1. Complete the Readmission Application and submit to the CSN Program Specialist by the application deadline. The Program Specialist’s e-mail address is csnadmissions@dcc.edu
  2. After the application is processed and approved, the student will receive an e-mail with further instructions for completing the application process.

Readmission

Students who have not been enrolled in nursing courses for one or more semesters must contact the CSN Program Specialist for information regarding readmission.  The application deadlines for readmission are:  September 1st for January readmission (Spring semester), December 1st for June readmission (Summer session) and March 1st for August readmission (Fall semester)

Students who have not been enrolled in the first year nursing courses for 3 semesters will be required to submit a request to the Program Specialist for readmission to the program by September 1st for spring readmission and March 1st for fall readmission. Students will be placed in the first semester nursing course on a space available basis.

Students who have not been enrolled in the second year nursing courses for 3 semesters will be required to submit a request for readmission to the Program Specialist by March 1st to be readmitted in the fall and September 1st to be readmitted in the spring. Students will be required to validate previously learned skills, and complete standardized testing and remediation prior to course enrollment. Therefore, the student will be required to register and pay for a special topics course that will take one semester to complete and will be offered in the fall and spring semesters as needed. The student who meets the current admission requirements and successfully completes the special topics course will be placed in the next available class on a space available basis.

Students who have not been enrolled in the nursing program for 4 or more semesters must contact the Office of Admissions to reapply to the program. The student who meets the current admission requirements will be placed in the pool of applicants for the next available class. Students who are accepted to the program will begin in the first semester nursing course.
