Prospective Students - RN Program

Admission Requirements and Information

Effective February 1, the nursing programs (RN and PN) will begin using the Kaplan Nursing School Admissions Test as the pre-admission exam.  The HESI admission exam will no longer be accepted.  The Kaplan Test will only be administered in the months of March and mid-September/October.  If you plan to apply for the PN program during the May application period, or the RN program during the July application period, you must take the Kaplan Test in March.  The test may only be taken once during any application period.  Only Kaplan Admissions Test scores from the Delgado Testing Center will be accepted.  More information will be published on the Testing and Nursing pages of the website soon.

The Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) must approve a student to enroll in a clinical nursing course.  Part of the approval process is based on a criminal records background check.  For more information on their denial or delay of licensure, reinstatement, or the right to practice nursing as a student nurse, visit the LSBN website.
