Delgado Community College is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology to provide students with both theory and practical skills in all phases of hairstyling, manicures, pedicures, make up application and salon management. Our student’s practical skills are developed through experience in an on-site salon which is equipped and managed according to industry standards by the students with instructor supervision. Upon completion of this program, which is 1500 clock hours, students are eligible to take the LA State Board of Cosmetology licensure examination.

*Please note that you must bring in the original documents and the staff here will make a copy. We must be able to verify to the LA State Cosmetology Board that we have seen the original documents.
Financial aid for students enrolled in the Cosmetology program is based on clock hours rather than credit hours due to federal laws regarding board reporting. Students must earn clock hours in the following increments in order to receive financial aid. See Clock Hour Calculation Webpage for more information.
