Students representing more than 80 different nationalities are presently enrolled in various Delgado programs.
International students on an F-1 and M-1 Visa are required to register and complete each semester (Fall and Spring) as full-time students.
Failure to enroll for a full course of study is considered a violation of the F-1 and M-1 immigration visa status.
International students on an F-1 or M-1 Visa who will study at Delgado Community College must complete the international student admissions process to be considered.
The ESL program at Delgado Community College is recognized both nationally and worldwide as one of the largest programs of English language instruction in the United States
Applications and other requirements must be submitted to International Student Admissions Advisor according to the following schedule.

Step 1: Letter of Intent
Please explain why you are interested in studying in the United States and why you have chosen Delgado Community College to continue your education. The letter MUST be translated into English.
Step 2: Admission Application
Applicants must fully complete and sign the Admissions Application.
Step 3: Supplemental Application
Applicants must fully complete and sign the supplemental application.
Step 4: Proof of Immunization
Submit proof of immunization compliance if born after 1956.
Step 5: Statement of Understanding
Read the statement of understanding, then sign, date, and submit.
Step 6: Financial Support
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Service requires all international students attending a college or university to submit statements of financial support as well as an official bank letter. The funds required for tuition and living expenses are approximately $20,300 U.S. dollars per year.

All financial documents must be original. No copies will be accepted.
Please request duplicates. You may need to provide evidence of sponsorship to embassy officials. Please check with your embassy website.
These documents must be completed before you can receive an SEVIS I-20.
Step 7: Foreign Transcript

Step 8: Copy of Passport
Mail the completed admissions packet to: Delgado Community College, International Student Admissions, 615 City Park Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119. The admissions packet must contain the following:
Letter of intent
Bank letter and bank statements verifying $20,300 in U.S. funds
Foreign transcript(s), if required
Step 10:Acceptance Notification
You will be notified by mail regarding your admission status. A Certificate of Eligibility (SEVIS Form I-20) will accompany your acceptance letter.
Step 11: SEVIS I901 FEE
Once the SEVIS Form I-20 is issued, The Student Exchange Visitor Program requires a fee of $200.00 (U.S. Dollars). Students must receive the I-20 form first before paying this fee. To get more information regarding SEVIS I-901 fee, please visit: https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/
Step 12: Obtaining your F-1 Visa
The Certificate of Eligibility (SEVIS Form I-20), acceptance letter, passport, and I-901 SEVIS fee receipt are used to obtain a Visa (F-1) at a U. S. consulate nearest to you. Click here for: http://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/
Step 13: English Language Proficiency Assessment
