LeBlanc Inks with LSU...

Delgado Community College outfielder Lucas LeBlanc signed a National Letter of Intent on Friday to continue his baseball career at Louisiana State University for the 2010-2011 season. LeBlanc was joined by his family, Delgado Baseball Coach Joe Scheuermann, and Delgado Athletic Director Tommy Smith for the signing.

LeBlanc is a 2007 graduate of Central Lafourche High School, where he was an All-District and All-State baseball letterman. Following a brief stint at Southeastern University, LeBlanc transferred to Delgado last Fall. He led the Dolphins to the Region XXIII Conference Championship in 2009 with a .356 batting average, including 64 hits, 9 doubles, 8 triples, and 8 home runs. He drove in 58 RBIs and started in each of the Dolphins’ 51 games of the 2009 campaign.

This past summer, LeBlanc was a member of the New Orleans Boosters All-American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) National Championship team, which is composed of area collegiate baseball athletes. He was also named the Most ValuablePlayer of the Tournament. This fall, he was named the All-State Sugar Bowl’s Amateur Athlete of the Month for the month of August.

Lucas is currently in his second year as a General Studies major at Delgado Community College and will be a member of the Dolphins’ 2010 baseball squad. He is the son of Boogie and Susan LeBlanc of Lockport, Louisiana.
