Charity School of Nursing is a limited admission program. The number of qualified applicants may exceed the number of positions in a given class. Those who do not gain admission to the class applied for but who meet admission requirements will be given if requested an opportunity to be considered for the next class. Admission requirements are as follows:
1. A completed Charity School of Nursing application must be received before any other forms are submitted. The application with all information typed or written in black ink (no photocopies) is to be mailed to: Charity School of Nursing, Admissions Dept., 450 S. Claiborne Ave., NOLA 70112. 
2. No applicant will be considered for admissions until all of the required documentation is received in the admissions department.

b. All college transcripts
c. TEAS score.
d. High school transcript or documentation of GED if applicant has never attended any regionally accredited college or university.
e. ACT scores no more than 3 years old are required for a certificate/degree seeking student who graduated from high school or received a GED and is 24 years or younger.
3. Overall grade point average in all college work attempted of 2.00 in a 4 point system. 
4. An overall grade point average of 2.500 in any general education and required related courses in the School of Nursing curriculum. 
5. Grade of C or higher in general education and required related courses – BIOL 251, 252, 253, 254, BIOL 211 or 210, and PSYC 127. 
6. Delgado Community College GPA of 2.0 or higher if applicable.
7. TEAS (Test of the Essential Academic Skills) composite score of 70% or above. Test can only be taken 2 times. 
8. Completion of at least 4 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology I (3 hrs. of lecture; 1 hr. lab), 3 semester hours of English composition and 3 hours of non-remedial mathematics required before enrollment in the first nursing course.
9. The application must indicate that he/she has the ability to meet the technical standards (See the student information bulletin for these standards).
