^{Students are eligible for admission to the EMTE program who:}

^{1. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.}

^{2. Complete prerequisite courses (ENGL 101 and MATH 118).}

^{3. Successfully complete pre-requisite courses. (Biol. 161 and Biol. 163 Intro to A&P)}

^{4. Achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 in all college courses.}

^{5. Must be currently Louisiana State Licensed, Nationally Registered EMT-Basic or Intermediate.}

The Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Program at Delgado Community College includes two years of integrated general education, required related courses, and the EMT professional courses. The EMT component of the program begins in August and January of each year and consists of 12 months of class work and practical experience.
