ALLIED HEALTH

The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Delgado Community College consists of two parts:

• Prerequisite Courses, including general education and required related courses
• OTA Component, which includes all the professional OTA courses

REQUIRED RELATED COURSES:

**Prerequisites for BIOL 251/253 are BIOL 141/143 or departmental permission. BIOL 141 and 143 may be used as your Free Elective.

NOTE: Science courses over 10 years old may require repetition. Check with the Allied Health Admissions counselor.

REQUIRED COURSES IN MAJOR:

The OTA component of the program begins in the fall semester of each year and consists of FOUR SEMESTERS OF FULL-TIME, DAY-TIME class work and fieldwork experiences. The final semester of the program is spent in full-time fieldwork affiliations and may require travel to facilities outside the New Orleans area.
