Admissions Information
Registration for the Summer 2013 and Fall 2013 semesters is underway.
STEPS FOR FIRST TIME FRESHMEN
1. SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION to the Delgado Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services or apply online at www.dcc.edu; click “Apply Now” and the select the appropriate semester.
2. PAY $25 APPLICATION FEE ($50 for international students) at the Bursar’s Office (cashier) or www.dcc.edu; click “Current Student” and then “Parent/Guest Payment”.
3. SCHEDULE A TEST TIME with the Office of Testing and Assessment for the appropriate test below call (504) 671-5060 or (504) 671-5080 or email Lionel Williams at lwilli2@dcc.edu.
· ATB (Ability to Benefit Test) or CELSA: you must schedule this test if you are not a high school graduate or have not received a GED.
· Delgado Placement Test: this test is required for first-time freshman students who are seeking a degree or certificate.
· If you are a non-native English speaker, please schedule an English as a second Language Proficiency Test (ESL Test)
· Testing & Assessment fee is $15
4. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA code for Delgado Community College is: 004626.
5. ATTEND FRESHMAN ORIENTATION. Register for orientation with the Office of Testing and Assessment in Bldg. 2 at the City Park Campus.
6. SCHEDULE CLASSES. If you are not required to take a Delgado placement test or you have already taken one, you may schedule your classes at www.dcc.edu; select “LoLA.” If you applied online, please email Shavondra Wallace at swalla@dcc.edu for your academic counselor. If you are majoring in Cosmetology, Cosmetology Teacher Training, or Barbering, please click on the program page for your major to see additional admission requirements that must be met before scheduling classes.
