Course Withdrawal
Student-Initiated Withdrawal
If it becomes necessary to withdraw from a course, the student must confer with the instructor. Students begin withdrawal procedures in the Student Services Office.

A student who officially withdraws by the mid-point of a course will receive a grade of "W."
A student will not be permitted to withdraw from a class after the official drop date. The official date of withdrawal will be the date the Withdrawal Form is transacted in the Student Services Office. Refunds, if any, will be made according to the refund schedule.
Instructor-Initiated Withdrawal
Any student whose name appears on the class roster who has not attended class during the first five (5) days of the semester will be withdrawn by the instructor as a “no-show”. A student reporting to class for the first time whose absences already exceed the number allowed for the class will not be admitted. Once reported as a no show, the student’s name will be removed from the instructor’s class roster.

Any student whose conduct interferes with the rights of other students to pursue their educational objectives in an orderly manner may be withdrawn through the Student Services Office and a "W" will be assigned at the end of the semester.
Any student may appeal an instructor-initiated withdrawal through the Student Services Office within ten days after the withdrawal goes into effect. Refund of tuition and fees will be made when a student is officially withdrawn from a course by an instructor according to the refund policy.
College Withdrawal
When a student withdraws from all courses, the student is considered to be withdrawn from the College. Students who are contemplating withdrawal should confer with their advisor and Student Services. If a decision to withdraw is made, the official Withdrawal From the College Form should be completed. The official date of withdrawal will be the date the Withdrawal Form is transacted in the Student Services Office. Student-initiated course withdrawal policies are also applicable to school withdrawals. Refunds, if any, will be made according to the refund schedule published.

Finance Related Withdrawal
All students are expected to meet their financial obligations to Louisiana Technical College Region I. Those who fail to do so will be withdrawn and will not be readmitted until satisfactory arrangements have been completed with the Accounting Office. Students withdrawn because of failure to pay fees and checks for insufficient funds will receive a “W” for all class work attempted, consistent with student-initiated withdrawal procedures listed above during the semester in which withdrawal action is taken. A “Hold” will be placed on the student record and the student will be notified of the hold. LTC Region I reserves the right to refer to delinquent student accounts, including bad checks, to a collection or legal agency. The student will be assessed any additional charges for collection of the account and/or a check returned for insufficient funds.
