A Pell Grant is awarded to help undergraduates pay for their college education. Unlike loans, grants do not have to be paid back. Students who have earned a bachelor’s degree are ineligible for a Pell Grant. To qualify for a Pell Grant the student must have a financial need and be enrolled in a degree-seeking program on a full- or part-time basis.
