Freshman- A first-time applicant who has never attended any college or other post secondary Institution

  • High school diploma

    • Students who have graduated from a Louisiana High School prior to May 2003 or transcripts who have not been properly transmitted electronically must request their transcripts to be mailed directly to Delgado Community College Admissions Office. We no longer allow students to hand deliver these documents to the college. Use the link to the form below and instructions to properly submit your Louisiana High School Transcript Request. Please note: There is a $5 fee.

Complete the online Freshmen orientation

Schedule the placement assessment

High School Dual Enrolled- Are applicants who plan to take courses while still in high school. Do not fill out this application if you plan to start classes after you graduate from high school.

Transfer- An applicant who has previously attended another post-secondary institution

Documents needed to enroll:

An official transcript from all institutions previously attended (regardless of whether credits were earned).

NOTE: transfer applicants on academic suspension from another college or university are not eligible to attend Delgado except under special conditions of enrollment. A written appeal is required. Please contact the Office of Admissions BEFORE submitting your application for Admissions. Email Office of Admissions delgadoadmissions@dcc.edu or by phone 504 671-5012.

If you satisfied the admission requirements during your initial enrollment, submitting this application and the paying the $25 application fee is all that is required.

Non-Matriculating - Are applicants not pursuing an associate degree or certificate at Delgado, and is interested in taking courses for professional development or personal enrichment only. Non-matriculating students are not eligible for federal financial assistance.

A student who enrolls as a non-matriculating student and later wishes to change to a degree or certificate program must meet the admission requirements.

If the course you are interested in taking has a prerequisite, a college transcript is required for advising purposes.
