Good Academic Standing
A student is said to be in “Good Academic Standing” when he/she has a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (C) or higher on all course work attempted. In order to obtain a 2.0 grade point average, the total number of quality points must be twice the number of credit hours attempted.
The following lines represent an example taking from what your DCC transcript may look like:
AHRS EHRS QHRS QPTS GPA
Current 12.00 9.00 9.00 18.00 2.00
DCC Adj Cum 12.00 9.00 9.00 18.00 2.00
Current = refers to the current semester
DCC Adj Cum = refers to the overall Delgado Community College grade point average
AHRS = Attempted Hours = 12.00
EHRS = Earned Hours = 9.00
QHRS = Quality Hours = 9.00
QPTS = Quality Points = 18.00
GPA = Grade Point Average = 2.00
In this example, if we multiply 9.00 (QHRS) X 2.00 (gpa desired) = 18.00(QPTS) are needed in order to obtain a 2.0 grade point average.
