Deadlines and Requirements for Fall 2012

FAFSA Priority Deadline: July 18

 

First Document Deadline: August 10

All documents must be submitted for an award letter and be eligible for a bookstore credit.

 

Second Document Deadline: October 10

All documents must be submitted for a promissory note which will secure classes, but will not provide a bookstore credit.

 

First Financial Aid Appeal Deadline: July 18

Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by  deadline in order to be reviewed in time to secure classes with a promissory note (no bookstore credit).

 

First Time Borrowers Disbursement Date: September 20

First Time Borrowers must:

· complete the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling online at studentloans.gov before your loan can be disbursed

· enroll in and complete six hours or more in order to receive and keep loan funds

· 1st time Loan Borrower’s should NOT RELY ON LOAN MONEY FOR BOOKS!

*Federal regulations require that the College delay delivering the proceeds of educational loans to first time borrowers until 30 days after the start of classes.

 

 Second Financial Aid Appeal Deadline: September 18

Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by deadline in order to be considered for Fall 2012. Students who miss the first appeal deadline must be prepared to pay the entire balance out of pocket, but can be reimbursed if Financial aid appeal is approved and Financial Aid processed.

Final Date to Apply for  Fall Loans: April 26

To apply for an educational loan to help pay the cost of attending school, you must have received a response to your Free Application for Federal Student Assistance. The deadline to apply for a loan for Fall 2012 is Thursday, October 11, 2012.

First Document Deadline: December 7

All documents must be submitted for an award letter and be eligible for a bookstore credit.

 

Second Document Deadline: January 9

All documents must be submitted for a promissory note which will secure classes, but will not provide a bookstore credit.

 

First Financial Aid Appeal Deadline: January 7

Appeal and supporting documentation must be submitted by  deadline in order to be reviewed in time to secure classes with a promissory note (no bookstore credit).

First Time Borrowers must:

Priority Processing- if a student has submitted all required documents before the first deadline your application will be processed before classes start. You will be notified before the start of the semester if you qualify for Federal Title IV aid. If you register during priorty registration, you must make payment arrangements before the end of fee payment week.

Financial Assistance Appeals- If a student submits a financial assistance appeal before the close of business on the first deadline date, there will be a decision in time to hold classes. If the appeal is approved by the Appeals Committee classes will be held with financial assistance. If the appeal is denied, responsiblity of the tuition lies with the student. If you submit an appeal after the first deadline date, you must pay to hold your classes. If you scheduled classes and your appeal was denied, you are responsible for those classes.

Note: Appeals submitted after the first deadline date will not be read until after the 14th day of class.

The last date to submit an appeal  -  Fall semester is Tuesday, September 18, 2012.

                                                                   Spring semester Saturday February 22, 2013.

Any appeal submitted after these dates will be considered for the following semester.

Starting Spring 2013 there will be NO RE-APPEALS.

 

 Priority deadline to complete FAFSA for Summer Aid- April 25, 2013.
