What's New, What's Due

On behalf of Alex Johnson, Chancellor

Delgado Community College is committed to maintaining a campus free of sexual harassment.  Individuals hired this academic year and individuals who have not participated in training on our policy within the last three years are required to do so prior to October 15, 2004.  For your convenience, the training is available on the Human Resource Training and Development webpage.

Most individuals complete the training in 15 minutes or less.  At the completion of the program, please print, sign and copy the certificate for your personal training file and forward the original certificate to the Human Resource department for inclusion in your personnel file.

Your commitment to maintaining a campus free of sexual harassment is appreciated.  If you would prefer to participate in this training in a group setting, please contact Marlise L. McCammon at mmccam@dcc.edu

ATTENTION MCO MEMBERS IN REGION 1 (NEW ORLEANS)

Effective September 3, 2004, certain LSU Healthcare Network Physicians in the New Orleans area will no longer be in the MCO Best Care Network.  All LSU Health Science Facilities (hospitals) are and will remain in the MCO Best Care Network.  Please refer to the complete list of affected physicians at www.farabenefits.com or call FARA Customer Service at 1-800-427-4511.

Any procedures certified before September 2, 2004 and scheduled to be performed by the terminating physician will be covered by the MCO.

Charges from the affected LSU physicians that were not previously certified or incurred after September 2, 2004 will not be covered by the MCO.

TRSL - NEW OPTIONAL RETIREMENT PLAN (ORP) CALCULATOR

Members employed in institutions of higher education (as defined in LSA-R.S. 11:92) with less than five years of service credit may be eligible to join the OPR. To help you decide whether to join, the new calculator compares benefits of the TRSL Regular Plan and the ORP. The comparison is based on information entered by the member and is not compared to the actual member account.

TRSL urges all potential ORP members to use the comparison calculator BEFORE making a lifetime decision that could dramatically reduce their final retirement benefit.

The link to the calculator is provided on the ORP page of the active-member section of the website at www.trsl.org > active members > ORP.
