PAYROLL
 
Q: How are paychecks distributed?
A: Paychecks are distributed by the College at the departmental level. Direct deposit is encouraged. If you have direct deposit, you will still receive a confirmation of the deductions and deposit made that pay period.

Q: When are paychecks distributed?
A: The payroll calendars can be found in the  Operational Guidelines. Your supervisor or his/her secretary should have a copy of this document.

Q: Is there anything I need to do before I begin receiving paychecks?
A: You must complete your payroll paperwork through your department or Human Resources.

Q: What does QUEST stand for?
A: QUality Express STaffing

Q: What are the jobs at Delgado that are considered Civil Service jobs?
A: Please refer to the Classified Positions chart.

Q: What are the tests for behavioral and office skills?
A: These are part of the QUEST initiative. The tests are numbered 7000 Behavior Assessment and 7001 Office Skills. The Typing Test is 7002.
 
Q: Where do the scores of 80% and 70% come from?
A: These are the scores that Delgado plans to use as minimum requirements. They may be revised, depending on the applicant pool that results.
 
Q: Do the posting vacancies time frames we are using come from Civil Service Guidelines?
A: Yes, Civil Service requires that jobs be posted at least one (1) calendar week. However, the Department may request to have the job posted for a longer period of time.

Q: Delgado's Interim Quest Guidelines state that a Department can use the same applicant pool within a 60 day period. Is this a Civil Service standard?
A: Yes, the 60 day standard is part of the Civil Service QUEST initiative. After a job vacancy has been posted, if another vacancy for the same job title occurs in the same Department, we can use the same pool of applicants - if an appointment can be made within 60 days of the closing date of the original announcement.
