The Safety and Health Technology program at Delgado Community College prepares individuals to work in a number of jobs in industrial and manufacturing settings.
Safety and Health courses focus on the fundamentals of safety, industrial hygiene, waste management and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) codes.

Safety and health technicians work in laboratories testing product and by-product samples, in human resources positions and as safety training specialists among other things. Many technicians will specialize in a specific area such as environmental health and safety or risk management.

Safety and Health Technology prepares students for entry-level jobs. Upon completion of the program, many graduates choose to transfer their credits to four-year institutions for continued studies in chemistry, biology or other science studies.
