We are proud to be a part of the oldest and largest Community College in the State of Louisiana. The Arts & Humanities Division is one of the largest academic divisions on campus, encompassing both transfer and career program offerings in the Humanities, Communications, and Social Sciences. We serve a large and diverse population, and offer associate's degrees in Care & Development of Young Children (CDYC), Criminal Justice (CRJU), Interior Design (INTD), Performance & Media Arts (PFMA), Visual Communication-Graphics Design (VISC), and in General Studies with concentrations in many disciplines.
The Arts & Humanities Division supports the mission of Delgado Community College through the delivery of high quality comprehensive associate degree and certificate programs, as well as providing core curriculum classes for every other academic and technical program on campus. This division serves every Delgado student who pursues a degree, and those students benefit from our excellence in instruction and advisement, which assists them in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. We provide educational opportunities that involve meaningful learning in and out of the classroom, as well as engaging co-curricular events and projects.
We hope to inspire within our students a search for truth, sensitivity to our world and the diverse cultures within it, the ability to lead in their chosen professions, and a desire to be critical thinkers and life-long learners. We are proud to share with you information about the arts & humanities division at DCC, our outstanding faculty, our exciting course offerings, and our programs of study. We hope that you find this website to be helpful and informative. There are links at the the upper left side of this page for the various departments and disciplines in this division.
