To ensure the safety
of Delgado's
students, faculty,
and staff, the
College has
developed an
extensive
Delgado Emergency
Preparedness Plan
as well as a
Delgado Hurricane
Emergency Plan
in the event of a
weather emergency.
The College's
primary concern is
the safety, health,
and well being of
its community
members. All
decisions reflect
this ethic.
Evacuation outside
the storm area is
always recommended
during a hurricane
as the best possible
way to ensure
personal safety.
Upon college
closing, all
students, faculty,
and staff are
encouraged to seek
safety through
evacuation outside
of the storm area.
Authority for class
cancellations and
College closures
comes from Delgado's
Chancellor, Dr. Alex
Johnson.
Students
Should any
student in
good
conscience
decide to
leave prior
to the
official
cancellation
of classes,
the student
is
responsible
for making
provisions
for missed
classes and
assignments
with his or
her
instructors
directly.
In the event
of a college
closing due
to a weather
emergency,
students
should
monitor
Delgado's
website
or call the
Delgado
information
line (504-671-5000)
for further
instructions,
as well as
monitor
local
television
and radio
stations for
updated news
and
information
regarding
College
re-openings.
Faculty and
Staff
In the event
of a college
closing due
to a weather
emergency,
faculty and
staff are
expected to
monitor
Delgado's
website
www.dcc.edu
or call the
Delgado
information
line
(504-671-5000)
for further
instructions,
as well as
monitor
local
television
and radio
stations for
updated news
and
information
regarding
College
re-openings.
Faculty
and staff
are expected
to follow
the
instructions
communicated
through the
Delgado
website and
information
line, which
serve as the
official
points of
communication
for faculty
and staff.
