Workforce Development and Education team counseled 1,300 Hurricane Victims
Members of Delgado Community College working at the Gretna One Stop facility were relocated to the Metairie Job Center and assisted in handling the hundreds of individuals seeking assistance in October, 2005. Five training facilitators moved to the new location in November, 2005 and were instrumental in ensuring individuals received job referral and resume development assistance.
In February, 2006, the Delgado partners acted as case managers for the active UI claimants coming into the Metairie location. During the time period of February, 2006 through June, 2006, approximately 1,300 individuals in need were assessed and counseled. A great job was done by Verlyn De la Cruz, Kim Tubre, Norma Ledet, Anne Bonner, and Judy Behler.
