What is eLearn?

eLearn is a free online program for anyone studying to earn a high school equivalency diploma (HiSET, formerly the GED) and transition to college and career pathways.

eLearn classes are all online! After testing and orientation at the City Park Campus, everything can be done anywhere with an internet connection. All you need is a computer with internet access and the ability to manage your time effectively.

There are 4 parts the eLearn Program:

Orientation

Start with Orientation to learn about the program and take a pre-test to see how you are doing and what to study online.

Classes

New classes in reading, writing, social studies, science, and math start every month. Take any classes to learn and study towards your goals. And all classes are online.

Testing

It’s always up to you to decide when you’re ready for the real test. Try a free practice test at home and talk with your coach to register for the real exam.

And if you don’t pass, that’s okay! You can keep studying and try again.

After you pass the test, we are here to help you get ready for college, apply for jobs, and move on in your educational journey.

Getting Ready for an Online Class

Taking an online class can be an exciting and meaningful way to learn. There are so many free ways for students and teachers to connect and explore together.

Online classes can also be challenging and different than a traditional classroom in a few ways. For example, you'll have to manage your time, stay focused, and not give up when the lessons are challenging.

There are a few free online tests you can take to see if you are digitally ready for an online class. The Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment will also help you practice and test the computer skills you'll need to do well online.

Try them here and see if you can pass some (or all) of the modules.
