Admission Application Now
Online |
|
Gwen Boutte’, director of Admissions and
Enrollment Services, announces that applicants applying
for admission to Delgado can now submit their
application online through the Delgado website,
www.dcc.edu, on the home page.
The Admissions Council, which consist of
Admissions staff members from each campus, has been
working on the project for more than a year. According
to Gwen Boutte’, “the testing phase began in January
2004 with the assistance of Pamela England, assistant
registrar for Information Processing/Technical Support
for Student Affairs; and Gregg Bond, Programming
manager.” “In the first seven days of going online,
over 150 applicants submitted their admission
applications for either the summer or fall semester via
the web,” Boutte’ added.
It is expected that the new procedure
will help expedite the admissions process during the
summer registration period. Computers will be made
available on each campus for students to apply online.
The student web is interactive with the
Student Information System, therefore the admission
staff does not have to enter admission data. This will
make the admission process more efficient for our
students. Applicants are able to pay the online
application fee on the web using their credit card
(Master Card, Visa or Discover). Currently, only
students applying for credit courses are using the new
system. The next phase will be to make modifications to
allow international students to apply online. |
