Delgado’s Culinary Arts student chefs won big at the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Central Regional conference held in Chicago, March 31 – April 4.

According to Mary Bartholomew, director of Culinary Arts, “Delgado and Louisiana were well represented by both the Hot Foods and Knowledge Bowl teams at the ACF competition. Louisiana and Kansas were the only two states that had teams to win in both competitions.”

Delgado’s Hot Foods team competed against nine other states and received a bronze medal.  Those students are Rex Archer, Ronald Bonnette, Anne Churchill, Marguerite Grifka and Norman Key. The coach of this team is Chef Jon Petrie.

In addition, Delgado’s Culinary Knowledge Bowl team competed against nine other teams and placed second and received a silver medal. The students are Julie Bloodsworth, Steven Latimer, Tenaj Savoie, William Hughes and Brent Applewhite. The coach of this team is Chef Nancy Burback.
