West Bank SGA host Welcome Back Day February 1st and Kicks off Black History Month

The Student Government Association, West Bank sponsors Welcome Back Day to welcome the incoming freshman and continuing students to Delgado Community College. Welcome Back Day will be held in the Student Lounge on February 1st. From 10 am until 1 pm, the SGA will serve nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, and soft drinks.

Additionally, Delgado student organizations and Student Affairs departments will have information tables set up in the Student Lounge. Also the Small Business Association (SBA) will be giving a presentation in the Room 130 at 11 am. All students should bring their Delgado ID.

Also during the month of February, the SGA, West Bank will be celebrating Black History Month. The SGA will kick off its celebration at Welcome Back Day with Black History Jeopardy. Throughout the month, SGA is planning to sponsor a number of activities, including a Gospel Choir, a Coffee House event with a spoken word poet, a Black History film series. Additionally, the SGA will publish a Black History reading list. Dates and times will be announced.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the main sponsor of this event and is funded by the students of the West Bank Campus. The $10 SGA fee is paid by students each semester and is used by the SGA to fund activities such as this one. The SGA Office is located in Building 1, Room 128.
