Daughters of Charity Health Centers and Delgado Partner to Provide Behavioral Health Services

June 11, 2019

Daughters of Charity Health Centers (DCHC) and Delgado Community College today officially announced the offering of behavioral health services on the college’s main campus at 615 City Park Avenue. DCHC will offer the services four days a week for students, faculty and staff.

This partnership derives from an expressed need for behavioral health services at Delgado. Students, faculty and staff also have access to additional medical services offered at DCHC’s ten health centers located throughout metro New Orleans.

“We are extremely grateful to DCHC for entering into this partnership with the college. It is evidence of the work that can be accomplished in our community for the greater good of the people we serve,” said Arnel Cosey, executive dean, Delgado City Park Campus and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. “Delgado and DCHC have responded to an enormous need that will lead to improved student outcomes and adds a new dimension of support and service for students, faculty and staff.”

Michael Griffin, president and CEO of DCHC, believes that this partnership reflects the Daughters of Charity’s 185-year history of addressing the community’s needs in New Orleans.

“When officials at Delgado brought to our attention the dire need to provide behavioral health services on campus, we immediately said ‘yes.’ We hope that the entire Delgado community will take advantage of the behavioral health services and view them as part of caring for themselves both mentally and physically,” said Griffin.
