Delgado Theatre Production ‘Seascape’ Rescheduled Oct. 11 - 13

The Delgado Community College Theatre Program announces rescheduled performances of their latest production, “Seascape”by Edward Albee, winner of the 1975 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for best play.
Three performances of “Seascape” were cancelled last weekend due to the threat of Hurricane Nate.
In the play, a couple attempts to relax on a secluded beach after a picturesque lunch only to find themselves arguing about their life together. Suddenly, they are happened upon by a pair of human-sized lizards from the depths of the ocean. Absurdly enough, the creatures can talk, and after an odd introduction, both couples soon find the other to be simultaneously fascinating and frightening. As each couple allows curiosity to overcome ignorance, they forge the courage to live outside their previous physical and psychological habitat.
“Seascape”is directed by Michael Aaron Santos. The play will be performed by students from the Delgado Theatre Program.
The production staff includes scene design by James Means, lighting and sound design by Tom Dawson and costume design by the award-winning Cecile Casey Covert.
The play reopens Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Delgado Drama Hall, 615 City Park Ave., Building 1, 3rd floor. The production will run through Friday, Oct. 13. The curtain time for the three performances is 8 p.m.
Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 senior citizens; and $8 Delgado students, faculty and staff.
