Motor Vehicle Technology Department Introduces Louisiana Girl Scouts to Careers

The Delgado Community College Motor Vehicle Technology department participated in the B.I.G. Event sponsored by the Girl Scouts to introduce girls to a variety of careers. Over 1,000 Girl Scouts from around the state visited the University of New Orleans to participate in the B.I.G. (“Believe In Girl”) event. They participated in over 40 different displays and demonstrations on the many opportunities that exist for girls to explore.

Presentations were provided by the U.S. Coast Guard, Electric Girls, Fit NOLA, UNO Biology department, Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, the Louisiana SPCA, Small Fry’s Cooking, the LSU Museum of Natural Science, the Delgado Community College Motor Vehicle Technology department, Empower Your Cents, the Association for Women in Science and others.
