The Motor Vehicle Technology program at Delgado Community College has received four donated vehicles from General Motors to support the GM ASEP program. Delgado Community College is the only GM ASEP college in Louisiana.
GM ASEP (Automotive Service Educational Program) combines state-of-the-art automotive service, appropriate academic coursework and real-world internship experiences to give students the best possible preparation for a career as an automotive technician. The program incorporates advanced automotive technical training with a strong academic foundation of math, reading and electronics, and both analytical and technical skills using GM products.
GM ASEP is a joint effort between GM, GM dealers, AC Delco Professional Service Center Program Members, and select colleges across the United States, Canada, China and Ecuador.
GM requires GM ASEP instructors to have the latest high-tech training available. GM ASEP colleges are ready to provide the most current training available in the industry. Since 1979, GM's commitment to supporting GM ASEP colleges and has produced over 15,000 automotive service technicians.
