Dr. Peter L. Cho has been named interim executive dean of the Delgado Community College West Bank Campus, where he is responsible for the leadership of approximately 3,000 students.
Cho, a faculty member at Delgado since 1995, currently serves as the lead department chair of the Arts and Humanities Division, and is the arts and humanities coordinator for the Delgado West Bank Campus. He also serves as the chair of the Delgado Internal Giving Campaign, and is chair of the Multiculturalism and Diversity Committee.
He has served as the department chair of Humanities, coordinator of the Music and Music Business Department and director of the Delgado Jazz Ensemble.
Cho holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of New Orleans; a Master of Music degree from Loyola University, New Orleans; and a Bachelor of Jazz Studies degree from Loyola University, New Orleans. He is also a graduate of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System Leadership Development Institute, and a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program with a certificate in Entrepreneurship.
He currently serves on the Executive Board of the American Federation of Musicians Local 174-496, and also serves as a faculty member of the Satchmo Louis Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp.
“Besides his many contributions to the New Orleans music scene as a performer and bandleader, Dr. Cho has a strong record of success as an instructor and administrator at Delgado Community College including the West Bank Campus. We are confident that his leadership as interim executive dean will contribute to the legacy of community service and academic excellence at Delgado West Bank,” said Joan Y. Davis, chancellor of Delgado Community College.
