Delgado Community College and the University of New Orleans (UNO) have renewed a 2+2 articulation agreement that paves the way for Delgado Hospitality Management graduates to easily transfer their credits to UNO in order to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
The articulation agreement allows Delgado students in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Department of the Delgado Business and Technology Division to graduate with a four-year management degree after two additional years of study at the Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration of the UNO College of Business Administration. The 2+2 program allows students who complete the courses prescribed for Delgado’s Hospitality Management associate degree to transfer to UNO to complete a bachelor of science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration (HRT).
Delgado students with an associate degree in Hospitality Management will be admitted as HRT juniors provided they meet UNO’s admission requirements.
The total number of credit hours required to complete a bachelor's degree in HRT from UNO is 120 semester hours and students can transfer up to 51 semester hours for degree credit from Delgado to UNO.
Delgado has maintained a longstanding partnership with UNO for hospitality course transfers since 1996, said Barry Brantley, CAE, CMP, CHE, Professor and Hospitality Management Coordinator in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Department at Delgado.
Delgado Community College, established in 1921, has grown into a multi-campus, widely diversified community college serving the entire New Orleans region.
