Kristen Preau Moore, owner of the Jambalaya Girl food brand by Cook Me Somethin' Mister, has been selected to represent Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at Vanity Fair’s third annual New Establishment Summit in San Francisco, October 18 - 20.
Moore was selected as one of five alumni out of the 7,100 small business owners nationwide who graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program to attend the invitation-only event.
Moore graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Delgado Community College in February 2014. Since completing the program, she has increased her sales by 80% and expanded distribution of her products across the country, having sold in every single state and now reaching internationally.
The Vanity Fair Summit (http://summit.vanityfair.com/) brings together nearly 300 titans of technology, politics, business, media and the arts for inspiring conversations on the issues and innovations shaping the future. This event features two days of programming featuring speakers such as Jeff Bezos, Barry Diller, Robert A. Iger and Sarah Jessica Parker.
During the Summit, Moore will join the other four Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses alumni at a Roundtable Luncheon to engage in a conversation moderated by a Vanity Fair editor.
Moore, aka “Jambalaya Girl,” created Cook Me Somethin’ Mister initially from her Dad’s jambalaya recipe. Growing up in the food industry, she says her dream has always been to promote New Orleans, and her mission is to bring her taste of New Orleans to the world with easy-to-prepare food products inspired by her family recipes.
The “a-ha moment” for her company came from her creation of a nationwide tailgating fundraiser following Hurricane Katrina, raising over $100,000 for New Orleans by cooking jambalaya.
Today, all Jambalaya Girl products are made in New Orleans and are specially blended by Chef Paul Prudhomme’s Magic Seasoning Blends.
