This is the third cohort of students to complete the Y.O.S.T. Clinical Medical Assistant program. Delgado collaborated with Children’s Hospital, where the students received clinical training.
The students experience mentoring and leadership skills, job readiness training, a financial literacy workshop, resume writing and interview skills. They also learn 21st century success principles and receive post-secondary education guidance and assistance with job placement.
Youth Occupational Skills Training (Y.O.S.T.) for youth ages 18-24 is funded by the Jefferson Parish Workforce Development Board Youth Committee in partnership with Delgado Community College. Delgado has been awarded this grant for the past twelve years.
The grant also pays for the students to take the National Healthcare Association exam.
