Shannon Warren: GED graduate tutors current students.
"The day I made a decision to go back to school was the greatest moment of my life. The minute I set foot on the City Park campus, I knew it was the beginning of a new season and a new chapter for me," said 38-year old, mother of three and recent GED graduate, Shannon Warren.
"Delgado’s GED program has helped me grow in so many areas in my life. Life was full of disappointments and I was bouncing from one job to another. I didn’t have any kind of stability or guidance in my life. I knew that something was lacking so I finally decided to take control of my own destiny. I enrolled in the GED program of May of 2011 and started working towards obtaining my diploma, not realizing that this was just the beginning of an opportunity that would change my life forever. I didn’t understand at that time, that my goal would lead me to my purpose. I learned that what I know now is who I’ve become. I received my diploma in September and I am currently enrolled as a Delgado College student working towards my associate degree, and I am also employed by Delgado’s GED program working as a tutor, helping others achieve their GED goals."
