Know the Process
1. Create ID at FSAID.gov
You must have an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA electronically.
2. Submit FAFSA Application
Visit the FAFSA website. Need help? Visit Delgado's City Park Building 2, Room 210 on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
3. Check Status in LoLA
Submit required documents online or to the nearest Answer Center or Financial Aid office.
4. Wait Patiently.
Document review will take about 14 days.
5. Accept Award in LoLA
Once all documents are processed, log in to LoLA and accept awards. Select Student Account then select Account Detail for Term to view authorized aid. Authorized aid = secured classes.
6. Use Bookstore Credit, If Applicable
If you have a "negative" balance, you may be eligible for book store credit. This is only available for a limited time at the beginning of each semester.
Your disbursement will happen after the first disbursement date (found in the handbook); they occur within 14 days of accepting the award offer.
8. What are Refunds?
Refunds are the credit balance remaining after tuition, fees, and bookstore credits are paid.
9. Refund Selections
Log in to LoLA to make your refund selection.
