SECOND START SESSION
Delgado Community College offers a Second Start semester. http://www.dcc.edu/second-start/
This unique opportunity allows students who missed start dates, [August start date or the January start date of the following year], will have time to prepare, enroll and register for classes. Students are allowed to apply for financial aid, take a placement test if necessary and enroll for classes that begin in the Second Start timeline.
Second Start courses are full-credit courses taught over 8weeks instead of 16. They are compressed and move at a quicker pace, similar to a summer term.

Satisfactory Academic Progression

Federal Financial Aid Funding
Federal Pell Grants - Second start PELL disbursements cannot occur until students are actively attending the course.
The example below shows a student attending two 16 week courses and would like to add a second start course.
· The student is eligible for 6 credits of Pell funding and will NOT receive the final 3 credits of Pell funding until the student is actively attending class.

Please be aware that if Students who register for the regular 16 week session and withdraw all courses before the 14th day, their record is closed and are not allowed to enroll in any other sessions for the semester.
