Delgado Dolphin Newspaper

The Dolphin is the student newspaper of Delgado Community College. Students are encouraged to apply for positions such as reporters, writers, photographers, and editors. It is published twice a month during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Students do not have to be Journalism majors, but a strong interest in Journalism is encouraged.

Delgado Theater Club

The Theater Club is for anyone interested in drama, comedy, musicals, acting, dance, costumes, backstage set design, and lighting work. The club produces plays on campus and promotes field trips to other theater groups. Membership is open to all students in all majors.

Delgado Video Club (DTV)

Provides a means of communication for the faculty, students, and other on-campus organizations at Delgado. For all students interested in video production.

Delta Epsilon Chi

The Delta Epsilon Chi organization is for the benefit of all students in the area of marketing on any Delgado Community College campus or learning center.

Gay and Lesbian Alliance (GALA) of DCC

 

GALA was organized to provide an opportunity for students who are of alternative life-styles, i.e., gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual (GLBT), to meet and discuss problems faced personally and/or on campus. Not limited to the above, GALA is open to all on campus who are gay friendly.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People  (NAACP)

Sociology Club of Delgado Community College

They promote and foster the development of the understanding of sociology through the discussion, analysis and dissemination of information to advance students' awareness of sociological issues. This is accomplished through public speakers, presentations, debates, editorials, and interactive functions.

Spectrum

The primary purpose if this organization is to unite African- Americans and other minority students and to assist them in meeting their academic and social needs. This group expresses the opinions and interests of minority students to the Administration, and implements various community schools and projects that concern all CSN students. This organization believes that health care is important and tries to educate the public on its importance of various pressing health issues. Membership is open to any presently enrolled CSN student.

Student Government Association, City Park, Charity, Northshore, and West Bank

SGA promotes the idea of self-governance and represents students' opinions to College committees, Administration, Faculty, and Staff. They also sponsor vital co-curricular activities to enhance individual student development, promote desired social interaction, and provide recreational activities for the students. Members of the SGA are elected by students.
