About The Concentration

Students concentrating in Web Design will learn the fundamentals of design, development, a webpage maintenance required for becoming successful website designers. Students in this concentration will learn both the technology and business of web design and development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages to design and develop websites, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud programs to design graphics, vector assets, prototypes, and more!

Delgado Community College instructors work closely with professional web designers and developers to ensure that our students are learning the most sought-after skills.  

The Computer Information Technology Program offers both a Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) in Web Design as well as a Web Design concentration as part of the Associate of Applied Science (AAS). In addition, students can earn a Career and Technical Certificate (CTC) in Web Programming.

About The Certificate Programs

While not an associate degree, the Web Design C.T.S. certificate program will provide students with the core skills and knowledge necessary for a career in web design and development. The Web Programming C.T.C. provides students a jump start in designing and programming for the web.

Certifications

Students who graduate this program may be prepared to take Industry Based Certification examinations related to web programming and design.

Course Rotation/Course Sequence for Degree

Courses are offered following the below sequence: courses listed under the suggested Fall semesters are always offered in Fall; courses listed under the suggested Spring semesters are always offered in Spring. Students who enter the program during a non-Fall semester (i.e. Spring, Summer) is advised to speak with their advisor and to take their General Education Requirements or other prerequisite coursework until they enter the next Fall cohort.
