Welcome to Culinary Arts

A strawberry spinach salad sits in the foreground as culinary students work in the background.

You've taken the first step in pursuing your culinary future with us. The faculty and staff look forward to working with you to reach your career goals.

While Delgado is an open enrollment college, Culinary Arts is a limited enrollment program. This means that you must be eligible to enter the program and must have officially been accepted into the program before you can enroll in any culinary classes.

The web pages in this section will guide you through the application process.

Steps to Applying to the Culinary Arts Program

Verify that you're eligible to apply to the Culinary Arts Program. Visit the general education requirements page for more information.

If you've submitted an general application for admission to the admissions department, great! But we also would like to get some additional information from you.

Once you've submitted your application, you will interview with a faculty member and he or she will help you complete an admissions checklist.
You will need to obtain copies of your transcripts and/or test scores to submit to the director. Unofficial copies are fine.
You will need to photocopy your state-issued ID (ex: driver's license) and submit it to our office.
You will need to obtain two letters of recommendation from people who know you well. These should not be family members.
Once you've completed the previous steps, it's time to schedule an interview with the director. To do so, please visit Building 11, Room 102 or call (504) 671-6199.
