Community College Week at Delgado Community College is March 25-April 1

Community College Week 2023 will be March 25-April 1 at Delgado Community College. Special events are scheduled at Delgado’s City Park, West Bank, Sidney Collier, River City and Jefferson locations.

Community College Week helps everyone in the community to discover opportunities at Delgado. The events focus on the educational and social services available to Delgado students. They include campus open houses, program exploration, a job fair, and a family-friendly Easter egg hunt.

The week starts off with an Open House at the City Park Campus on Saturday, March 25 at 11:30 am. Attendees can learn about opportunities at Delgado and speak with faculty members from various programs.

On Monday, March 27, explore the Sidney Collier Site from 1-4 pm featuring Cosmetology, Barbering, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting, and more.

On Tuesday, March 28 from 2-6 pm the Jefferson Site in Metairie is hosting a Job Fest to meet with industry partners and learn more about technical programs at Delgado.

Wednesday, March 29 is the Open House at the West Bank Campus in Algiers to explore programs like Care and Development of Young Children, Computer Information Technology and more from 10 am-12 pm.

On Thursday, March 30 from 9 am-12 pm, the week’s largest event will be the City Park Campus Program Day, where visitors can browse all the programs offered at Delgado, receive a tour of the campus with program demonstrations, and apply for admission.

Friday, March 31, is Program Day at Delgado River City in Avondale. There will be tours of the site and enrollment assistance. Programs include Precision Machining, Welding, Diesel Mechanic, and more.

The final event of Community College Week is a family-friendly Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 1 at 11 am at the City Park Campus. Community members can hunt for Easter eggs and have some fun with Delgado staff and faculty.
