Career Services
Welcome, from Delgado Community College's Career Services Office! Career Services provides students and alumni with information regarding full-time and part-time jobs, in addition to offering assistance with developing effective job search skills and strategies. Our office provides individual career guidance, as well as advice on beginning a specific job search. We can also organize resumes, and give direction on how to prepare for upcoming interviews. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of all the resources and services we have to offer.
Career and Major Exploration
Delgado Community College has partnered with Focus 2 Career to provide future, current and alumni with a comprehensive career guide that individuals enjoy using. Focus 2 Career guides our students through a reliable, intuitive career & education decision making model that can assist them in choosing a college major, explore occupations & make informed career decisions.
By utilizing Focus 2 Career, students will have the opportunity to explore their job interests and skills, as well as develop an understanding of their personal values and academic strengths, to discover the various opportunities that are right for them.
Job Placement Assistance
Career Services strives to assist current students and alumni of Delgado Community College in their job search. Our goal is to develop relationships with business, industry, and community organizations.
The Delgado Community College Career Services Office provides a database of full-time and part-time employment opportunities for students and alumni, as well as providing assistance creating or updating a resume through our online job board, Handshake. Workshops are provided by the Career Services Office upon invitation of individual departments on campus. Topics include: Job Search Techniques, Dress for Success, Professionalism in the Workplace, Resume Writing, and Interviewing Techniques.
Employers
Career Services encourages employers to create and manage their organization’s profile through Handshake frequently. Employers have the opportunity to post jobs, search resume and career portfolios and register for Delgado Community College hosted job fairs.
