Know the Process

1. Create FSA ID

A FSA ID serves as your official legal signature. Use your ID to sign the FAFSA and access other educational websites.

2. Complete FAFSA 

Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Delgado Community College School Code is 004626.  Within 1-2 weeks, our office will receive your information electronically.

3. Submit Forms

Check your LOLA all required documentation. It is important to submit these required documents in a timely manner. Once the Financial Aid Office reviews all required documentation and completes the verification process if required, the file will be complete.

4. View Awards

Check "Award for Aid Year" in LOLA.You will be sent an award notification to your preferred student email. Awards are based on you meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

5. Select Refund

Make REFUND CHOICE through LOLA

6. Check Authorized Aid

A note that you have Authorized Aid appears on"Award for Aid Year." To see Authorized Aid, check "Account Detail for Term" in LOLA. Negative dollar amount = secured classes.

7. Check Bookstore Credit

Check the Student ID Card portal to see if you are eligible. Credit is only available for a limited time at the beginning of each semester.

8. Disbursement Processed

The process of applying funds to a student's account to cover tuition, fees, and books (if applicable) begins.

9. Refunds Process Begins

Once funds disburse, the refund process can take about 14 days from the date the credit posted to your Delgado Student Account.
