May 09, 2018

Delgado Community College and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) have announced an agreement that provides direct transfer opportunities between the two institutions. Representatives of both institutions met at the Delgado campus on City Park Avenue in New Orleans for a signing ceremony to mark the start of the new educational partnership.

Through the partnership, Delgado graduates can fully transition their associate degree in Business Administration into an online bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at SNHU with the confidence that their Delgado coursework will transfer. Delgado students who transfer with an associate degree will receive a reduced tuition rate at SNHU. In addition, Delgado employees and their immediate family members are offered a ten percent reduced tuition at SNHU.

“I commend the faculty and administrators of the Division of Business and Technology for their work in bringing this high-value educational opportunity to our students, faculty and staff,” said Joan Davis, chancellor of Delgado Community College. “Online education offers new pathways that maximize the investment of time and financial resources necessary to achieve higher education goals.”

“Community colleges share in our mission and values, particularly around high-quality learning experiences that are student-centered,” said Dr. Greg Fowler, chief academic officer and vice president of academic affairs at SNHU’s College of Online and Continuing Education. “Like us, they focus on providing dynamic experiences that lead to student success while also considering affordability, accessibility and flexibility. This partnership allows those who otherwise might not have had opportunities to continue moving forward on a transformational journey that will impact not only their lives but those of their families and their communities.”

SNHU is a private, nonprofit institution accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as several other accrediting bodies. With more than 200 certificate, undergraduate, and graduate programs offered, SNHU has one of the lowest tuition rates in the nation that has remained the same over the past four years.

Founded in 1921, Delgado Community College is the New Orleans region’s largest higher education institution and Louisiana’s oldest and largest community college. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and by industry organizations, Delgado provides students with the most comprehensive array of educational services available in the greater New Orleans region.
