LCTCS Scholarships for New High School Graduates

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), which includes Delgado Community College, has entered into agreements with three organizations: Future Farmers of America (FFA), SkillsUSA, and JAG-LA. Qualified students graduating from high school in the 2017-18 school year will be eligible for $500 and $1000 scholarships. For more information, download the flyers below:

Delgado Scholarships

We are now accepting applications for Delgado scholarships. Recipients for Delgado scholarships will be chosen in the Spring 2018 semester. The awards will take effect for the Fall 2018/Spring 2019 academic year.

Awarded amounts are annual, unless otherwise noted.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Have completed 32 hours of course work
  • Have earned minimum GPA of 2.7

Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application, two letters of recommendation, an official transcript of coursework, and an essay of 250 words stating need for financial assistance.

To be eligible, students must have:

  • Enrolled in WorkReady U or other Adult Basic Education program 
  • Have NOT received federal financial aid in the past
  • Do NOT currently qualify for federal financial aid
  • Have NOT earned an Ability to Benefit (ATB) qualifying score on ACCUPLACER

  • This scholarship is for students pursuing a career in the skilled trades, public safety or supply chain.
  • A $2000 scholarship is awarded for tuition, fees, books and equipment.
  • Scholarship recipients receive tools after graduation.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be enrolled in Delgado's Registered Nursing (RN) program - AS-NURS
  • Possess a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Be enrolled in minimum of 7 credit course hours
  • Possess unmet financial aid need

Applicants must submit recommendation letter from a clinical instructor (full-time or adjunct) who can comment on the applicant’s:

  • academic proficiency
  • commitment to excellence in clinical practice
  • level of caring, compassion
  • willingness to give of themselves to others

This scholarship is for Café Reconcile graduates attending Delgado Community College with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. It is an annual award, and the award amount varies. To be considered, please indicate that you are a Café Reconcile graduate.

This scholarship fund is used for book vouchers. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

This scholarship is open to students majoring in Culinary Arts. The award amounts vary. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

This scholarship program is open to continuing students. Three scholarships are available annually, and the application requires a written essay and letters of recommendation. This is an annual award of $2,500.

To be eligible students must:

  • Have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Be a full-time student
  • Participate in student organizations
  • Have a financial need
  • Maintain their GPA and continuous enrollment

This scholarship is open to students majoring in Funeral Service Education. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

 This scholarship is open to students enrolled in any of Delgado's technical programs. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

This yearly award (Fall-Spring) is awarded to students who have been professionally diagnosed with Dyslexia and/or ADHD. To be considered for the scholarship, students must:

  • Have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.
  • Fill out the Delgado Scholarship application, and submit an essay.
  • Provide a letter of recommendation.
  • Provide medical documentation of their diagnosis.
  • Have previously earned at least 24 credit hours.
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.

No minimum number of students are awarded this scholarship. The number of awards will depend on how many students meet criteria and how much financial need is demonstrated.

This $500 award is open to students who have previously earned at least 15 credit hours and possess a minimum of a 3.5 GPA.

Academic scholarships are for high school students with a minimum of ACT score of 20.

Honors scholarships are for high school students with a minimum ACT score of 20, and a minimum GPA of 3.08.

The Associate of Mathematics/Science/Transfer Graduate Scholarship is a scholarship founded by Susan Santolucito. The scholarship was created to support students of exceptional promise in the fields of science and math who will continue their studies at a four-year institution.
