Short Message Service (SMS) Terms and Conditions

Delgado Community College (“DCC”) offers a recurring subscription text message service. This text messaging service gives you the option to subscribe to receive text messages from DCC on your mobile device.

To enroll, text INFO to 69715 or submit a Request for Information Form. Subscribers will receive no more than 6 messages per month. Message and data rates (“Msg&Data”) from your wireless carrier may apply.

Messages and Information

DCC will use SMS messaging to provide you information, including, but not limited to, (i) upcoming DCC-related events; (ii) special announcements; (iii) due date reminders from financial aid and admissions; and (iv) scheduling reminders for appointments with academic and/or financial aid advisors. Subscribing to this service is not required to apply for or to gain admission to DCC, and is used only for matters that DCC deems helpful and pertinent to the admission process.

Confidentiality

All mobile information you share will remain confidential and will only be used by DCC representatives for legitimate educational purposes and to assist you in a more efficient manner regarding your enrollment at DCC. Other offices, departments or organizations at DCC may collect and use information in forms different than described herein.

Message & Data Rates

All costs associated with receiving a text message are the responsibility of the individual receiving the message. Receiving mobile text messages from DCC is completely free of charge. However, message and data rates (“Msg&Data”) may apply from your wireless carrier.

Use of Automatic Dialing System

DCC may use an automatic dialing system to deliver text messages to you. Federal regulations define an "automatic telephone dialing system" or auto dialer as equipment that has the capacity to store or produce telephone numbers to be called and to call such numbers. By your subscription, you give your consent to DCC to use an automatic dialing system that delivers text messages to the telephone or cell phone number to which you have directed DCC to transmit these text messages.

Opt-Outs

All users may opt out or unsubscribe from receiving text messages from DCC at any time by texting STOP to 69715 or by contacting 1-855-215-8247. By enrolling in this subscription program, you consent that, following such a request to unsubscribe, you will receive one (1) final message from DCC confirming that you have been inactivated in our system. Following such confirmation message, no additional text messages will be sent unless you reactivate your subscription.
