Certified Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants (MA) perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. They keep the physicians’ offices and other healthcare practitioners running smoothly. MAs work directly with patients, to ensure that they receive the care needed while also providing health professionals with vital patient information. Duties include but are not limited to the following: scheduling and receiving patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, taking patient histories and vital signs. As an essential part of the healthcare team, a medical assistant is responsible for obtaining general health data and performing a variety of back and front office duties. You will develop skills in the clinical and administrative aspects of the medical office. In our program, you can gain the entry-level skills necessary to be competitive in the workforce.
