Delgado Foundation Announces New Board Appointments

The Delgado Community College Foundation is honored to announce the appointment of two distinguished board members who have extensive business, community, and workforce development experience.

Missy Hopson, PhD serves as System Vice President and Chief Learning and Workforce Development Officer for Ochsner Health, one of the Gulf South’s largest integrated healthcare systems with more than 40,000 employees. She leads Ochsner’s Center of Excellence where she is responsible for workforce development strategy, executive and leadership development, career mobility, onboarding, and regulatory education. Her work also entails serving as co-leader of Ochsner’s culture renovation efforts and contributing to enterprise engagement strategy. Dr. Hopson has been instrumental in creating healthcare workforce opportunities for high school students and adults. She designed Louisiana’s first healthcare LPN Registered Apprenticeship and co-developed the state’s first high school LPN pre-apprenticeship in partnership with regional education institutions. Her flagship Ochsner Scholars program represents a multi-million-dollar annual investment in nursing education across Louisiana and Mississippi. Under her leadership, Ochsner modernized its learning infrastructure to support AI-enabled, skills-based workforce transformation and achieved sustained best-in-class engagement performance nationally. Dr. Hopson serves on multiple regional workforce and education boards and contributes to statewide credential strategy through the Louisiana Work’s Industry-Based Credential Council. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Louisiana State University.

Real Estate Developer and Realtor Christopher M. Meeks possesses more than four decades of regional, national, and international business and industry experience. As a New Orleans native who endeavors to preserve the city’s rich culture and history, Mr. Meeks specializes in historical renovation projects through an independent real estate practice. He previously served as a partner in an investment banking firm and energy boutique that specialized in energy worldwide. Mr. Meeks has also provided extensive counsel to the oil and gas industry as an independent geologic and geophysical consultant for projects in the Southeastern region of the U.S. In prior board service, he was appointed to the Audubon Commission. Mr. Meeks is a graduate of Tulane University and Isidore Newman School.
