Delgado Foundation to Spotlight Mayor Helena Moreno During "Roast of the Town”

Annual Gala Set for April 10 at the Sheraton New Orleans
The Delgado Community College Foundation will feature the Honorable Helena Moreno, Mayor of the City of New Orleans, during the 2026 Roast of the Town. The Roast is Delgado’s premier annual scholarship gala and is scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, 500 Canal Street in New Orleans. The evening will begin with a reception at 7 p.m., followed by dinner and The Roast at 8 p.m.
Mayor Moreno joins a long line of political figures, civil servants, and distinguished business leaders who, over the last 24 years, have accepted the challenge to be grilled by friends and colleagues.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the Delgado Community College Foundation for this year’s Roast of the Town,” said New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno. “Delgado is a vital institution for our city, providing students with the tools they need to step into high-demand careers and strengthening our workforce. I’m happy to take the heat if it means raising scholarship funds for our students and supporting our economy.”
As Louisiana’s largest community college, Delgado serves approximately 25,000 students annually. Mayor Moreno’s focus on infrastructure, economic development, and opportunity aligns with Delgado’s commitment to expand programs that prepare students for high-demand careers that strengthen New Orleans’ workforce.
Delgado Chancellor Larissa Littleton-Steib said, “Mayor Helena Moreno is a dedicated champion of Delgado and the students we serve. Her leadership reflects a commitment to opportunity and economic growth. We are honored to celebrate her while raising vital support for student success.”

The Roast will offer an evening of fun-filled, side-splitting laughter whereby the Mayor will take jabs from highly recognized Roasters all in the name of good fun and for a great cause. The funds raised at this event provide opportunities that support Delgado students and institutional advancement.
The 2026 Roasters include: Hon. Joseph Giarrusso, Chief Administrative Officer & First Deputy Mayor for the City of New Orleans; Aimee Quirk, Senior Vice President & Chief Corporate Development Officer and CEO, Ochsner Ventures Greater New Orleans Region; Hon. Cedric Richmond, former Congressman, District 2; and Hon. Jason Williams, District Attorney for the City of New Orleans. Michael Hecht, President & CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc., will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
