January 12, 2018

Iam Tucker, president and CEO of Integrated Logistical Support Inc. (ILSI Engineering) and a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program at Delgado Community College, has been named to the transition team for New Orleans Mayor-elect LaToya Cantrell.

Founded over two decades ago, ILSI Engineering is a 100% female, minority-owned, 8(a) certified civil engineering firm. ILSI Engineering specializes in sewer, water, streets and drainage design, as well as program and construction management. Tucker is responsible for the day-to-day management, direction, business development and implementation of policy for all civil engineering, structural engineering and construction management activities.

Since assuming the presidency of ILSI, Tucker has generated a strong record of achievements for herself and the company, achieving 62 contract awards from various state, local and federal agencies.

Tucker is a passionate advocate for the city of New Orleans and its people. Delgado Community College honored her with the 2016 Circles of Excellence Alumni Award because of her many noteworthy contributions to the community.

"The 10,000 Small Business Program at Delgado helped me gain the competitive edge I needed to sharpen my business acumen and gain a better understanding of every logistical facet of my company,” Tucker said. She credits the program with helping her to gain greater confidence and knowledge in her business.

She was honored by nola.com as one of the area’s 27 “business people on the move” in November 2017.

Tucker and ILSI Engineering recently were chosen as one of 15 local businesses to take part in an eight-week training program to be ready for opportunities in coastal restoration water resource management.

She was also recently nominated and accepted to be part of the Greater New Orleans Inc. Foundation. Her company was also voted the Times-Picayune’s “Reader’s Choice–Minority Business of the Year.”

She is a member of the non-partisan advocacy group African-American Women of Purpose and Power and was in the 2013 Gambit “40 under 40” class. Tucker also works with the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation.
